INCOMPREHENSIBLE LOVE

“I in them, and Thou in Me, that they may be made perfect in One; and that the world may know that Thou hast sent Me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved Me” John 17:23

God’s love is spoken of rather loosely and irreverently by those who know nothing of His love. Those who promote a universal love of God for all men the same, and a universal redemption even for those who will perish are only a handbreadth away from experiencing His eternal wrath and hatred for them unless He snatches them as a brand from the burning, which will reveal that He has always loved them. I am certain that even with all that the scriptures say concerning His love and with all that He has revealed by His Spirit unto those whom He loves , we can comprehend but little. His love is like Himself - infinite, eternal, sovereign and holy - (that is - complete and perfect). The manifestation of His great love wherewith He loved His people is only seen in God Himself as He was made flesh and dwelt among us. All instances of the love of God toward man is only traceable in, through, and by the Lord Jesus Christ. The sacrifice of His soul, body and blood for poor sinners is the testament and signature of Almighty God’s everlasting, omnipotent, sovereign, redeeming love. Those whom He loves may draw from this well-spring now and throughout eternity and it will not diminish one drop. Time and events, life nor death shall never alter or shake the Foundation Stone of our salvation, which is the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. The impotent, empty, useless, pathetic thing that the masses term “god’s love” is only worthy of our hatred and disgust. As they spit in the face of Him Who is altogether lovely, I spit in the face of their Beelzebub, the lord of dung.

How much or by what measure does God love His people? “I in them, and Thou in Me, that they may be made perfect in One; and that the world may know that Thou hast sent Me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved Me” Incomprehensible!
