PRECIOUS FAITH

“Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ” 2Peter 1:1

All things we receive from God is without money and without price and are freely given to us from the bounty of His storehouse of grace. All Spiritual blessings are a treasure and are precious to His children. Every gift is good and perfect and suited to our every need. He supplies all our needs according to His riches in Glory. Wonderful Provider! Wonderful Supplier! The faith that God gives in regeneration is a gift of God and is the evidence of Spiritual life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Although faith is not the object of our worship it is most precious because of its singular object, Jesus Christ - “Unto you therefore which believe He is precious.” 1Peter 2:7 It is by faith we live, walk, run, stand, see, hear, understand, and some day, by His grace, we will die in faith. As the called of God live by faith here on this earth amidst the cares, toils, troubles and sin of this flesh we are able to rejoice in the fellowship of the Father and the Son and with others of like precious faith in the blessed gospel of God’s free and sovereign grace in Christ Jesus our Lord. I am convinced that every moment of a believers life is a trial of faith as well because of the vanity of this flesh. Every trial of faith is precious - “That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in Whom, though now ye see Him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls” 1Peter 1:7-9. The obtaining of this precious faith is by and through the righteousness of Christ Who is our life and righteousness. The faith of God’s elect is by the faith of the Son of God Who loved us and gave Himself for us. Our precious Lord has given us the same faith as His precious faith in His perfect humanity. His faith is perfect - so is ours! Look at the Giver! Look at the Object!
