REDEEMED

“Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by His own blood He entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.” Hebrews 9:12

Before us we have a clear declaration from God Almighty. This eternal truth stands out in all the scriptures as it is the substance and heart of the gospel of Christ. God’s purpose of grace in Christ Jesus our Lord is revealed in simplicity, leaving no place for argument or objection. The Word of God declares the work of redemption forever and completely accomplished by One Man, the Lamb of God, for all for whom He shed His blood and died for. There is NOTHING left to the will of man or to chance. It was finished in eternity, it was finished in time when Christ said, “It is finished”. God forever and forever God! He changes not! Therefore His purpose in eternity and His work in time are one and the same. All those for whom Christ died are secured by the sovereign love of their Redeemer. They are sealed by the covenant oath of their Surety. Christ and His redemptive work is not just a point of doctrine - THIS IS THE GOSPEL. Those who promote universal redemption, or are not purposely clear concerning this truth, are not preaching the gospel and therefore are not God’s preachers - “As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed” Galatians 1:9. The complete and eternal redemption of the elect by Jesus Christ The Lord, alone, gives Him all the glory. If there is, in some sense, that God loves all men, and Christ died for all men, and yet some will perish, then the redemptive work of Christ and the love of God means nothing and God is not in the least glorified. But, thanks be unto God, this is not the case! Christ has “obtained eternal redemption for us.”
