Call To Worship

Scripture Reading and Prayer

Hymn# 42 ‘All Hail The Power’

Message

Benediction

Call To Worship

Sing To The Tune Of ‘Amazing Grace’

There's not a sparrow nor a worm

But's found in God's decrees;

He raises monarchs to their thrones,

And sinks them if He please.

If light attend the course I run,

'Tis He provides those rays;

And 'tis His hand that hides my sun,

If darkness clouds my days.

When He reveals the Book of Life,

O may I read my name

Among the chosen of His love,

The followers of the Lamb!

“I will bring the blind by a way they knew not; I will lead them in paths they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them.” Isaiah 42:16

I SAW THE LORD

“In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and His train filled the temple.” Isaiah 6:1

To see the Lord Jesus Christ in a vision as Isaiah did surely would be a wonder to behold. The vision refers to the exaltation of Christ, after His humiliation here on earth. Although we do not see Him in a vision, we see Him exactly as Isaiah did; On the Throne of His glory, high and lifted up, worshipped by the innumerable company of saints being accompanied by the host of heaven. We see Him by faith in His glorious reign as He is revealed in His Word by the preaching of the gospel. For the child of God to ‘see Him as He is’ initiates worship and adoration. Peace and comfort flow from Him to us like a river because we see ourselves gathered with Him there. His love, mercy, grace and omnipotence preside over all His loved ones to their good, to the destruction of every foe, and to His glory. Because He is there and we are there with Him everything will be alright. Every one of His sheep see Him exactly the same because He is the same - “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever” Hebrews 13:8. We see Him having accomplished eternal redemption for us, having purchased us with His Own blood, having put away our sin by the sacrifice of Himself, having raised from the dead proving our justification, having ascended to the throne of His glory ever living to make intercession for us. The sight of Him there assures our hearts before Him here. The believer’s desire is to see the Lord, and He has promised to give us the desire of our heart. - “One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in His temple” Psalms 27:4. Of all the wonders there are to behold there is nothing that compares to beholding the Lamb in the midst of the throne. How do you see the Lord?

God Will Save His People

I'm truly sorry for people who are being lied to by preachers who compromise the truth of God, speak smooth things, brag on the flesh, make God a doddering old grandfather and the Lord Jesus Christ a failing, fumbling, faltering pretender who sure does wish that everybody liked Him. Here is where we are today. A true preacher can tell the people who God is, and that the Lord Jesus Christ is not an option but a necessity, and that as God He is the sovereign of all and will either save or destroy forever. The oily preacher comes along and tells the sinner that his will is supreme and God can't unless he allows him. Yet in spite of this, the Lord Jesus WILL SAVE HIS PEOPLE (Matt. 1:21 “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call His name JESUS: for He shall save His people from their sins.”)!

Home Trials

What careful reader of the Bible can fail to see that Adam, and Noah, and Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and Joseph, and Moses, and Samuel were all men of many sorrows and those sorrows chiefly arose out of their own homes!

The plain truth is home trials are one of the many means by which God sanctifies and purifies His believing people. These trials are spiritual medicines, which poor fallen human nature absolutely needs.

“A man can no more diminish God's glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word, 'darkness' on the walls of his cell.”
